Speaking to the Daily on December 13, Truong Gia Binh, chairman of FPT Group, said, ““FPT can acquire foreign and local software companies as it did in 2014.” FPT took over RWE IT Slovakia with 400 staff two years ago.

Binh said M&A deals with domestic firms could only help FPT Software add more staff while acquiring foreign companies will allow it to approach global markets easily and quickly. The company is in negotiations with some foreign software firms at the moment, he noted.

FPT Software on December 13 held a ceremony to announce that it has 10,000 employees, making up 10% of the Vietnamese software sector’s total.

Aside from its human resource development target, the firm is aiming for US$1 billion revenue by 2020. This year, it expects to generate US$230 million revenue, well above US$181 million last year.

Since 2012, FPT Software has recruited 7,000 employees with annual staff growth of 40%.

In 2017-2020, it will need 20,000 more employees.
